Review: "The Para-Portage of Emily" by Muffy Wilson

This is a story to savor. Attorney Emily Macque immediately falls in love with the island and Mariner's Maiden, her uncle's home there. Fascinated and nearly obsessed with the history of the welcoming home, she immerses herself , delving into its history and learning more about the original lovers who lived there.

Ms. Wilson's descriptions are poetic and enthralling, placing the reader in the midst of the story, and the relaxed pace of the story does not lessen the power of suspense. Shrouded in mystery, romance, and eroticism, "The Para-Portage of Emily" is a treat for the senses, a haunting indulgence.

Despite hints throughout, the ending still surprised me, and though satisfied, I regretted the literary journey's end. Highly recommended. I look forward to more from this promising series.
