Have you ever wondered what it takes to make an Alpha Male? Is it the way he looks? His dark and stormy  eyes, the way his body moves, the way he...well, I'll leave that last part up to you. What about the way he acts? Or treats his heroine?

What is your favorite thing about Alpha Heroes? Well, we authors are ready to share our favorite Alpha Males, our favorite things about them, and everything sexy and heated about those Alpha Males you can think of. *wink* Starting on Friday and ending on Oct 22nd, over 200 Authors and Bloggers will share their favorite things about those sexy men we know and love.

And while we do that, we are EACH doing a giveaway. Yep. There will be over 200 giveaways on each blog hosted by that Author or Blogger. Read on to find out a little about what I think, and of course, the prizes :-) Make sure to leave your e-mail address in comments!

My friend, Melinda Dozier included me in a group post with several great authors, and each of us talked a bit about favorite alpha males. I'm in love with so many, it didn't occur to me to mention the names of some of my own personal alpha heroes in the post, so here goes:
I don't want to make any of my alpha heroes jealous or angry, so indulge me while I sing their praises as well, as they embody the qualities I love in an alpha male. Sable, and Torin, from "Dark Sentinels" books one and two, and Canaan (C J) from "Alerians - Dark Progeny: Jordan's Wings." These are men of few words, yet when they speak, they are intelligent, insightful, and direct. They are powerful, protective men who are not intimidated by a strong woman; in fact, they support and encourage strength in the women they love, taking whatever steps they deem necessary to help them acknowledge and fulfill their dreams. These men make me feel safe, willing to risk their lives to protect me from harm. They show me I am loved instead of wasting time with flowery lip-service.
If you love alpha males, I have three you might like to meet! You can view Sable's blurb and enjoy the trailer on the right. Torin is the fiery, volatile hero from "Dark Sentinels Book Two: Torin," coming soon to Amazon.com and Barnes and Noble.com (find out more about him here), and my newest release, hot off the press, is Canaan, from "Alerians Dark Progeny - Jordan's Wings" with Red Rose Publishing!

"Alerians - Dark Progeny: Jordan's Wings"

Jordan Taylor is a feisty, take charge, Rubinesque beauty with a tough façade, but after a string of lackluster relationships, her dream of a man who truly loves and appreciates her strength seems impossible…Until she meets Canaan, the man her fiancé claims is his best friend! Instinctively, she knows her neat, if lackluster life is about to change.
Born more than 200 years ago, Canaan looks like an angel but he’s far from it. In his world, the ratio of men to women is 500 to 1, and although he’s a superior being, he’s willing to break the most sacred law of his brothers, even drink human blood, to have one meant for him alone. When he meets Jordan, he knows she’s the one he’s been searching for.  To claim her, Canaan will have to betray his friend, humble himself enough to win her love, and risk his very life.

But that's not all....

We have THREE grand prizes. You as a reader can go to EACH blog and comment with your email address and be entered to win. Yep, you can enter over 200 times! Scroll to the bottom of the page for more sites :-)

Now what are those prizes?
My Prize: Free e-copy of "Alerians-Dark Progeny: Jordan's Wings"
1st Grand Prize: A Kindle Fire or Nook Tablet
2nd Grand Prize: A $130 Amazon or B&N Gift Card
3rd Grand Prize: The following Swag Pack!

I received so many comments during this fantastic hop, I decided to draw twice! Winners are Jo, and Qwillia Rain. Both winners will receive a PDF copy of "The Alerians - Dark Progeny: Jordan's Wings" which can be read onscreen or loaded to a Kindle or Nook. Congratulations!

I love Alpha men, because I need someone as confident and dominant as me to have an equal relationship - I hate the feeling that my partner is less powerful than me and cannot make it without me.

My favourite Alpha male is Gabriel from Annette Curtis Klause's Blood and Chocolate, because he's strong, confident and willing to fight for what he wants.

Thanks for your comments! I'm hearing about some new alpha males, too. That's an added bonus. LOL (I'm laughing with Danita Minnis)!

Hi, Beth! My friend Beth's talented daughter Elise created my "Dark Sentinels" covers and banners. She also just created a banner for "The Alerians - Dark Progeny: Jordan's Wings" on very short notice :-)

Thanks for including me, Melinda. That was fun. Even the Beta lovers enjoyed it. Bloodrebel333, sounds like we have some things in common :-)

I think the best thing about Alpha Males is that they aren't threatened by strong females.
If I went with favorite Alphas, not including the ones I write about, I'd have to pick all the Mackenzie men (and Mac) from Linda Howard's series, then there's the Doms in Cherise Sinclair's Shadowland series (especially Master Sam).

I know what you mean. Picking one or two and not mentioning another could cause serious relationship problems. LOL. I understand that 'cause I'm the same way - have to be the one and only one ;-)
Ooh this is why I love blog hops I have never seen any of your books before. I'm going off to check them out now thank you

I think my favorite line of that that little blub was "They show me I am loved instead of wasting time with flowery lip-service"

I think that describes it pretty well :)

Why I love Alpha Males is no real surprise! The perfect Alpha Male for me could be a Vampire, a Scottish Laird, an English Rogue/Gentleman, a Werewolf or Shape-shifter, or a Knight. He’s the rogue who thinks he can’t be reformed into a gentleman. He’s the rough and scarred Scottish laird that has a heart of gold. He’s the werewolf or shape-shifter that needs to heal an aching heart because it took him years to find his true mate. He’s the vampire who has waited decades for that special someone’s blood to sing to him and wake him up. And he’s the knight who can defeat the enemy with a quick swing of his sword, but can’t see the love in front of his face. My Alpha Male has eyes that can see into your soul and are as blue as the sea, or as black as a storm. He’s tall and brooding. His heart can enfold you into its grasp and make you fall in love when he gives it to you freely and completely. He is protective and passionate. In the end he is the one that makes your heart jump and butterflies fly in your stomach, and still kiss you until your legs melt!

Jack Gordon from Liz Crowe's REALTOR series rocks!

Alpha males are the best….strong, independent, fiercely protective, but on the inside they are nothing but a big ol’ teddy bear! I love the way their mouths talk filthy, but their eyes portray their sensitive sweet. They can be rough and tough in the bedroom, but still have the gentle caress of an attentive and protective lover. It's all in the heart.....alpha males are the best!

Thanks for participating in the hop!

Congratulations on your upcoming new release. I love your point about alpha men loving strong women and encouraging them to be their best. I feel in this day in age, with so many strong women, that the stereotypical alpha male from the past is no longer acceptable!
Thanks so much for being a part of this blog hop.
